“Easy Simple Delicious Hearty Eggs Dish”
This is really a simple Eggs dish that often found at the dining table of most Chinese households. It is really a reminiscent of “Egg Omelette with Sliced Onion (click for recipe)” or “Egg Omelette with French Beans (click for recipe)”. The chives need no sautéing before adding to the beaten egg. Simply wash thoroughly, cut , add them into the beaten egg, add in some seasonings, fry and viola, the dish is done. Yesss.., really that simple!! When being fried, the cut chives will release an aroma to the eggs, flavoring the omelet with great garlicky taste. Here’s The Viand’s take on “Chives Omelet (韭菜煎蛋)“.
- Chives – thoroughly washed and cut to about 1-inch long or smaller if so desired. Eggs.
- Salt, Sugar, white pepper, a touch of Oyster sauce and a dash of Sesame oil. All to taste. ** Note : Just dash/pinch of everything, if U prefer a stronger intensity of an ingredient flavor, simply add a little extra of that ingredient/spice – no rocket scientific measurement here. Always taste your Seasoning !!!
- Step 1 : Start by beating the Eggs with all the Seasoning Ingredients. Add in the Chives and mix well. Dish out into Pan or Wok. On medium-heat, let the Eggs sit for abt 1-2 mins. It should be ready (solidify enough) to be flip-over. Flip and fry for another 1-2 mins. When its nice and golden brown, ur easy delicious hearty “Chives Omelet (韭菜煎蛋)” is ready to be served hot.
