Delicious Toast Crust Pan Pizza

There are always “bread heels” (the top and bottom slice of the bread) left at home and instead of discarding them, The VianD is left consuming them most of the time (thus, getting kinda sick of having them the old fashion way, with some kind of spread). In a moment of creativity, The VianD came up with this simple recipe – for a quick simple breakfast or lunch.. *😅*. U can ofcos, alway have as much topping as U like but keeping it simple, The VianD only has these Ingredients – thinly sliced Onion, an Egg and sliced cheese. Anyway, this is as simple as it gets and delicious too! Here’s The Viand’s take on Simple Toast Pan Pizza.

IngredientS

MAIN :

  • 3 slices of Bread heel
  • Butter, 2 pieces cheese slices. Ooo…an Egg (not in pict.)
  • Thinly sliced Onion

SEASONING :

  • A pinch of coarsely grounded Black pepper, Salt, dried Thyme and Basil. All to taste. ** Note : Just dash/pinch of everything, if U prefer a stronger intensity of an ingredient flavor, simply add a little extra of that ingredient/spice – no rocket scientific measurement here. Always taste your Seasoning !!!

MethoD

  • Step 1 : Start by melting a generous lump of Butter in a non-stick Pan, sprinkle the dried Thyme and Basil – just to get the flavors going. Skin-side up, lightly toast the Bread – move the Bread around the Pan to make sure all the goodness of the Butter and dried herbs got absorb onto the Bread.

  • Step 2 : Transfer the Bread (skin-side down) into a smaller Pan that can hold-up the Bread to form a base/crust. Lay the cheese slices on, sprinkle a generous of freshly grounded Black pepper over it. Then crank an Egg right at the center, sprinkle the sliced Onion all over and a pinch of Salt. Cover and let it sit on low/medium heat for a 1 minute or two, depending on ur preference of the bottom crust (this will also help melt the cheese). To get the top a little crisp and ofcos, cook the Egg and Onion, pop the Pan (without the cover) into an Oven (set to top-grill) for another minute or two. Viola ur delicious Pan of  “Simple Toast Pan Pizza)” is ready to be served hot.
