Simple Aromatic Delicious Pork Belly

Another quickie dish flavored with Brand’s Essence of Chicken. This is essentially nothing more than “Braised Ginger Pork Belly” – click fo recipe, but with added flavors of the Brand’s Chicken Essence. To enhanced the dish, The VianD throw in a bunch of Goji berries and a couple of Red Dates. Nothing further much to add soooo.., here’s The VianD take on Braised Pork Belly With Brand’s Essence of Chicken.

Pssst… btw, if any of U are wondering on why all the recent postings of nourishing dishes or dishes tat incorporate Brand’s Chicken Essence – the reason, as explained in some of the recent posts is that these dishes were prepared for someone who is recuperating from a major abdominal surgery. Having said that, these dishes should be really good for people who are in needs of a little bit of rejuvenation. And most certainly will do good for all the ladies to have these dishes once in a while. All in all, for an average Joe of all ages, these dishes should be considered as revitalization dishes, to be taken intermittently.

IngredientS

MAIN :

  • Sliced Pork Belly – mix with a little Lean Pork if too much fat. Marinate for at least an hr with Salt, Sugar, black Pepper, Oyster sauce, Sesame oil and a touch of Shaoxing wine.






  • Lots of sliced Ginger. Smashed Garlic, Scallion – cut to abt 2-inchs long, some Goji berries and Red Dates (smashed) – both soak in warm water for a couple of mins, just to get rid of any impurities.






  • Ofcos, the all important bottle of Brand’s Essence of Chicken. U can add an additional bottle if U prefer a more intense flavor.

SEASONING :

  • Salt, a touch of Oyster sauce and a dash of Shaoxing wine and Sesame oil. All to taste. ** Note : Just dash/pinch of everything, if U prefer a stronger intensity of an ingredient flavor, simply add a little extra of that ingredient/spice – no rocket scientific measurement here. Always taste your Seasoning !!!

    Start by sautéing the sliced Ginger and Garlic till aromatic on medium/low heat.









    Crank up the heat, add the marinated Pork, stir/mix well and continue to saute for a few minutes.









    Until the Pork kinda turn whitish in color.








  • Step 2

    Turn heat to medium, add the Brand’s Essence with an additional half a bottle of water and Red Dates, mix well and bring to boil. Turn heat to low and simmer for abt 10 mins or till sauce rendered down to slightly thickened consistency. Add Goji berries, Scallion and all the Seasoning Ingredients, give it a few more quick stirs to mix everything.


    Viola, Ur plate of aromatic delicious “Braised Pork Belly With Brand’s Essence of Chicken” is ready to be served hot.





  • ** Tip ** : Always add the Shaoxing wine just before plating. Swirl the Shaoxing wine in a thin stream around/along the side of the wok. This way, the heat will burn off the alcohol leaving behind a wonderful aromatic fragrance.
