Creamy Stovetop Mac & Cheese (Non-Bake)

A silky, glossy cheese sauce with tender, never mushy macaroni, this Stovetop Macaroni & Cheese is a perfect classic. This is incredibly simple and basic – made with Butter, Cream/Milk, Cheese and a few seasonings is all you need to make this epic classic that is ready to serve in less than 20 minutes! This is a dish to fill you up and satisfy you to your toes, no matter how old you may be. Not only this is ultra-creamy, this dish is also very versatile that U can almost add any Ingredients U fancy to heighten it – such as Bacon bits, Ham bits and some hard Vegetable bits.

Just to be clear, this is basically a strip-down version of The VianD’s earlier post of “Bake Macaroni & Cheese” (click here for the recipe) – obviously, without the baking, with fewer Ingredients and by far, much much creamier. This is not as saucy as U might expect but this was done on purpose, simply to the preference of The VianD. If U prefer more sauce, just add more Cream and Milk. IngredientS

 Macaroni and Shredded Cheese (Parmesan/Cheddar).

 Chopped Onion. Finely chopped Parsley and Garlic (not in picture).

 Butter, Cream and Milk (not in picture).


SEASONING :

 Black Pepper, Dried Thyme and Basil.  Optional – Dijon Mustard. All to taste.

** Note : Just a dash/pinch of everything, if U prefer a stronger intensity of an ingredient/spice flavor, simply add a little extra of that ingredient/spice – no rocket scientific measurement here. Always taste your Seasoning !!! The trick is NOT the exact measurement, the trick is “to taste the Seasoning” and get ur preference balance of flavors !!!













MethoD

STEP 1 :

 Start by cooking the Macaroni in a pot of boiling water with a pinch of Salt till al dente.








STEP 2 :

 Meanwhile, melt the Butter in a non-stick Pan/Pot. Add Onion and Garlic and saute till aromatic.








STEP 3 :

With the Macaroni done, transfer to the Pan with some kind of Sifter. A little of water is fine, U don’t need to completely drain the Macaroni. Mix well and add the rest of the Ingredients (Parsley, Cheese, Cream and Milk) and Seasoning.

Mix and toss well, making sure everything is blended together. Add more Cream and Milk if U prefer more sauce. Viola, ur smooth, creamy and cheesy “Stovetop Mac & Cheese” is ready to be served hot.
