- Potatoes, Tomatoes, Onion and Carrots and Meats/Bones.
- Salt and Sugar. Optional – a touch of Oyster sauce. All to taste. ** Note : Just dash of everything, if U prefer a stronger intensity of an ingredient flavor, simply add a little extra of that ingredient/spice (no rocket scientific measurement here). Always taste your Seasoning !!!
Start by dicing all the Ingredients except for Tomatoes – cut to Triangular.
Saute to sear the Meats/Bones till slightly brown. Add in all the Ingredients and saute till aromatic. Sauteing the Tomatoes gives you that thin layer of reddish oil; appetizing looks. A little trick to effaced the rather boring, plain-looking version tat U mostly find outside.
Add Water, bring to boil. Turn the heat down to low and simmer for at least 2-3 hrs or till all veggies soften. The longer U boil, the veggies will breakup and infused into the soup, making it slightly thicker (preference). Add Seasoning Ingredients. Viola.., your hearty bowl of “Lou Song Tong (ABC soup)” ready to be served hot.
