- A medium size Broccoli – wash and cut to bite-size.
- Sliced, Ginger, Garlic, Red Carrot and some Fish Cake (U can basically add any Protein, U fancy or none – which will make the dish Vegan).
- Sugar, Salt, a touch of Oyster sauce and a dash of Shaoxing wine. A tiny bit of Cornstarch mixture, as a thickening agent. All to taste. ** Note : Just dash/pinch of everything, if U prefer a stronger intensity of an ingredient flavor, simply add a little extra of that ingredient/spice (no rocket scientific measurement here). Always taste your Seasoning !!!
Start by blanching the Broccoli/Red Carrot for a min or two in a Pot of boiling water seasoned with a pinch of Salt. This will help the Broccoli to cook evenly and preserved its bright greenish color. Dish out to drain excess water and set aside.
On medium/low heat sautés the sliced Ginger and Garlic till aromatic. Add the sliced Fish cake, give it a few good stirs. Crank up the heat, add Broccoli, stir/toss and mix well. Add a tiny splash of water just to create some sauce. A few more good stirs (DO NOT overcook), add all the Seasoning Ingredient and viola, Ur plate of crunchy healthy “Simple Stir-Fried Broccoli” is ready to be served hot.
