Blog Philosophy

Here at The VianD, the philosophy is this : cooking should be fun, make recipes your own and be adventurous, cooking doesn’t have to be a chore, rather it should be enjoyable! Cooking and eating is an experience, and food is the heart and soul of that experience. Smell and understand each ingredient, savor the flavors, and appreciate the presentation of a dish. When cooking, treat recipes as a starting point or as a guideline and not an “end-all be-all”. Always cook to your own taste. It is ok to mix it up and make the recipe yours. Put a little of your own spin on it ! Make the recipe reflect your tastes, style, and preferences – be creative !

Cooking requires confident guesswork and improvisation – experimentation and substitution, dealing with failure and uncertainty in a creative way.

Cooking is an observation-based process that you can’t do if you’re so completely focused on a recipe.
